Goodbye, crystals, and victory for the children!
Trell has forbidden me to use crystals as my source of power. It's been difficult, even for just one day, considering how corrupted I've become. I've been using crystals for the whole of my eighteen years. Trell said I must meditate and kick the addiction. It sounds quite easy, and probably is.  The crystal I used was held inside my piano. (( FREEEEED! Anyway. )) I'm still doing repairs on the poor instrument. Trell crowbarred it. Ah, well...It's an easy fix, usually. And, if I am unable to fix it, I can ask Aarfen to do it for me.

Also, I finally persuaded Master Kalerthen to let the apprentices outside more often! A little boy promised to pick me a bouquet of wildflowers, should I succeed. This will make music lessons so much easier. The children will be able to listen to the birds singing, and hear the breeze glide over the trees. I hope to bring them all to Mulgore, a true sorce of beauty and peace. They should be able, I argued, to see the city up close, to see their home city and land. After much hidden frustration, innocent and pleading tones, persuasion, and even a flirtatious smile or two, Master Kalerthen gave in. The children are ecstatic, and I believe I have rubbed some of my lower class 'dirt' on them.

I've been considering the governess position. True, I would be away from everyone for most of the time...But would it be worth it? The child, Earna Dawning, is most engaging and lovely. She's but eight years old, hardly older than dear Hayden. She can read and sing and talk fluently in Thalassian, but she can hardly do any in Orcish. I suppose it is far too 'dirty' to be learned in her manor. But I shall not punish the child for her parent's faults for, indeed, Earna is most wonderful.

And, last, but not least; the children in the tower. All of the youngsters are truly marvelous. But some of the older children have others views, such as...Some of them are my age. My voice is too thin. My piano playing is amatuer. I'm plain, (which may be true. I never considered myself to be a great beauty.) I flirted my way into this job, that I bewitched the headmaster. This does not anger me greatly...They do not know better. It's how they were raised. But some of the older students are very kind and joyous. There is one young man, a few days older than I, who seems quite taken with me! His brother saw a picture of Athena that Malendria drew, and instantly began to stammer how very beautiful she is. I had to turn away to hide my snigger.
Oh, well. I'm enjoying my teaching time nonetheless. It's certainly been an experience, and the apprentices are learning so much. I don't believe they've heard a lot of music in their lives. One of the younger girls amazed me above all, though. She was extremely talented on the harp, and had the sweetest voice! In strict confidence, she is one of my favorite students.  I will update soon!
